Darren Bent jumps off plane

Both West Ham and Tottenham players landed in China yesterday for a pointless money spinner, aka pre-season friendly, in Beijing.
Just as the Spurs jet was about to close the doors, striker Darren Bent was alleged to of been hauled of the plane and had his bags removed also. The reason for such behaviour is that Bent’s move to Sunderland had gone through at the eleventh hour and the player was told not to head to China.

Bent wasn’t the only player to miss the flight as Jermaine Defoe failed to turn up due to the fact he’d been arrested by Essex Police who wrongly believed he was serving a driving ban.
The England striker explained that a six month penalty that was imposed earlier this month, was in fact suspended pending his appeal.
But the Essex bobbies weren’t falling for that old trick and banged him up in Harlow nick for five hours whilst they checked his story.

There is apparently no truth in the rumour that Defoe cried and wet himself whilst in the cells, unlike his team mate Ledley King who visited a cell in May after an ugly alcohol-induced racist attack on a nightclub bouncer.
Having made a few slurs on the Spurs player, we should probably cover our butts by pointing out that the sources who witnessed King getting locked up, and claimed he’d wet himself crying, were also being arrested themselves for a street brawl, so perhaps they’re not particularly credible.
