Emmo & I were having a decent discussion about who is currently England’s No1 the other day.
Being a Hammer, I rightly stated that Rob Green should be the main man for the job in South Africa. Emmo however thought that 40 year old Calamity James who has already been injured this season and plays for the worst team in the Premier League.
So who gets your vote ? Who do you want between the sticks in the World Cup finals ? Perhaps super penalty stopper Green, or rushes out like a headless chicken James ? Or perhaps one of the other contenders. Vote below then feel free to leave comments at the bottom of this page.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Rob Green has never played in a big game.
When given the chance for England he has failed to impress. A red card and could easily had another after the lineman somehow didnt see him handle the ball about 6 yards out of the area.
I dont James either but he is the best of a very bad bunch.
but this is what happens when the best teams in the league all have foreign keepers!
It does appear to be a difficult position to fill currently. But James does get the most practice. Funnily enough, Robinson has been fairly steady of late, but we all know the moment he pulls that England shirt on, divots will appear in the 6-yard box and the ball will be invariably drawn to them. Green would be my choice though (as an ex-keeper I know a tiny bit about playing there) and he’s the sharpest of a blunt bunch.
